All postcards are reprints of watercolor paintings of the German painter Georg Wagenführ (1871-1950) who painted portraits, landscapes, cityscapes and industrial objects. A large part of his work came about during the many distant journeys he made. He painted colorful street scenes in China, rural villages in North Africa and harbor views in France and Holland. There are 18 postcards in the series.

Known by its cheap quality, bad print and it's pink/purple hue, these cards are not acquired/preferred by collectors. The scenes are common scenes of its time with few exceptions. Another, better quality printing has blue skies instead of pink/purple. Issued late 1917-early 1918, they are the product of the occupation of Istanbul after WW1. These cards can be found with dates all the way into late 1940s.
