One theory suggests that Emil Pinkau printed Fruchtermann's first cards for Ottmar Zieher and later began selling the same cards to other editors. In October 1895, Ottmar Zieher announced that cards from many countries, including Turkey, were available for sale. This date predates the sale of Fruchtermann's cards by several months. Fruchtermann may have begun selling cards by seeing this advertisement or by an advertising card sent by Emil Pinkau. We also see cards identical to those in Fruchtermann's early series signed by Ottmar Zieher or, very rarely, by D.G. Dabo.
